Johnson County Mental Health Center is looking for qualified applicants to fill the position of Mental Health Nurse (RN) in the newly established Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic at the Shawnee Mental Health Center. In conjunction with our Behavioral Health Nursing team, the Mental Health RN will work with clients afflicted with wide variety of diseases and conditions, whether that’s pediatric or adult diabetes, hypertension or other long -term conditions. The schedule will be Monday - Friday: 8am - 5pm. This position will remain open until filled. Other responsibilities include:
Minimum Job Requirements:
High school or equivalent and a Vocational, Associate’s, or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or other Nursing program that meets the requirements for the Registered Nurse license are required. Licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Kansas and a valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record is required.
Johnson County Government requires reference/background screening for all positions. Specified criteria may vary by Department/Agency.
Preferred Job Requirements:
Three years of nursing experience in Medical Surgical or Psychiatric inpatient or outpatient settings is preferred.
Physical, Environmental, and Special Working Conditions:
All County employees may be called upon to assist other departments in a declared emergency situation.
